began in the parish of St.Anne's Catholic Church in Bethlehem, PA and has been approved as a bona fide organization in the Diocese of Allentown. It is the fulfillment of the desire of a charismatic, young woman missionary, Holly Benner,
to alleviate some of the persistent suffering of the poor, poverty-ridden people of Africa. In November 2006, our orginization received non-profit status and, in October 2007, it was approved as a 501 (c) (3) organization. It was then that we decided our full time mission be to "Provide clean drinking water to the poor throughout Africa"
We are governed by a Board of Directors that consists of its officers and Rev. Anthony P. Mongiello, pastor of St. Anne's church, as chaplain and spiritual director. The Board of Directors meets regularly to discuss and evaluate projects, fundraising and the allocation of funds.
We solicit donations both private and corporate to fund our water projects on the African Continent. One of the most basic needs for life is clean drinking water. Unfortunately, this is a scarce resource in many African Countries. Consumption of contaminated water causes diseases such as: guinea worm disease, chol
era, diarrhea, and typhoid fever. Our mission is to provide funds for water boreholes and other water related projects to decrease the illnesses due to water borne diseases.
To date we have provided the funds for non-contaminated water in two Nigerian villages, one village in Tanzania, a Medical Clinic in the Nakaseke District of Uganda, and recently an orphanage in the Kibiko District of Kenya. Our next planned project is to move into the Sudan region once our work in East Africa is done.
